Thorough reference checks are an important part of assessing rental applicants, and ApplySafe gives you a central place to track the references collected for each application. Recording manual reference checks against the application keeps all of an applicant’s personal, rental history and employment references in one place, so you have a complete picture when making a decision.
However, there may be situations where a reference check happens outside ApplySafe, such as speaking with a previous landlord or employer over the phone, or receiving referee details from the applicant after they’ve submitted their application. That is why it’s important to record these checks manually against the application, so the information isn’t lost in emails or notes and anyone reviewing the application can see it.
This article will guide you through recording a new manual reference check on an ApplySafe application, either from the Applications section or from a listing.
